Use it from your own AI assistant

The demonstration page presses the buttons an assistant would. Here the assistant is yours: connect Claude or ChatGPT to the hosted connector and talk to Demo Bank in your own chat, or install the hardware-attested connector in Claude Desktop on a Mac.

A demonstration, not a banking service. Demo Bank has sample accounts, no real money and no payments. Whatever your assistant is told about your finances here is made up. Connectors are kept for 30 days after their last use, and lost whenever the demonstration is redeployed.

Claude or ChatGPT, hosted

Your assistant gets a connector of its own on our server. Its keys are held there, so the bank records them as self-asserted, the limit the briefing describes.

Claude Desktop on a Mac

The connector runs inside a signed app on your Mac. Its keys live in the Secure Enclave, Apple attests the app, and the bank checks the software before it trusts it.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT

The connector's address is the same for both:

Claude

  1. On claude.ai, open Customise → Connectors, choose +, then Add custom connector. (On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds it under Organisation settings → Connectors.)
  2. Paste the address above and choose Add. Claude registers itself with the demonstration and shows you a one-click consent page. Choose Connect.
  3. Start a chat and say: "Link me to Demo Bank."

Custom connectors are available on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows one. Claude Desktop and the mobile apps use the same connector once it is added on the web. Claude Code can add it too: claude mcp add --transport http demo-bank https://idp-fedconn-demo.up.railway.app/mcp.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode (a paid plan is needed).
  2. Under Plugins (called Connectors before July 2026) choose +, give it a name, and under Connection choose Public endpoint and paste the address above.
  3. ChatGPT sends you to the same consent page. Choose Connect, then in a chat say: "Link me to Demo Bank."

What happens next

  1. Your assistant shows a code and a link to Demo Bank. Open the link, check the bank's page shows the same code, and sign in with a passkey. Any username will do: this is the bank's own passkey page, and it makes the passkey for you.
  2. The bank gives your assistant its own ID and a Trust Mark. Ask it something about your accounts; it will ask for your permission first, with another link to the bank.
  3. Ask it for deals from the bank's partner, and it will ask for a separate permission. Ask it to market to you, and the bank refuses before you are asked. The film shows the whole sequence.

Install the connector in Claude Desktop (Mac)

This is the version the experiment is about: the connector inside a signed Mac app, its keys in your Mac's Secure Enclave, Apple's App Attest vouching for the app, and the bank checking the software and the Mac's security state at enrolment and at every renewal.

  1. You need macOS 27 or later (App Attest arrived in macOS 27; on an earlier Mac the bank records the keys as self-asserted) and Claude Desktop.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file. Claude Desktop shows what the extension does; choose Install.
  3. In a new chat, say: "Link me to Demo Bank." Your Mac asks for Touch ID when the connector's key is used.
Signing. This build is signed with ID Partners' Apple development certificate, so it runs only on Macs registered to our developer team. A notarised build for anyone's Mac is coming; the extension file will change, and nothing else.
